Cameron Clawson
Quartermaster - Marines

Cameron Clawson is the Quartermaster of Tordik-Diederich-Duffield VFW Post 4927, responsible for overseeing the post’s financial operations and administrative duties. Born in Salem, Oregon, Cameron is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and former intelligence specialist who completed three deployments to Afghanistan—one with 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, one with 3rd Intelligence Battalion, and one as a defense intelligence contractor—spending a total of 30 months in-country.

During his time in Afghanistan, Cameron assisted with the intelligence preparation and support of major operations, including Operation Khanjar, Operation Moshtarak, Operation Jaws, Operation Branding Iron, and Operation Lariat. Operation Khanjar, launched in July 2009, was the largest helicopter-borne operation since Vietnam and the largest Marine offensive since the Battle of Fallujah, inserting 8,000 Marines to establish bases throughout southwestern Afghanistan. He left the Marines as a sergeant.

During his service, Cameron was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (with three Bronze Service Stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (with Bronze Service Star), and the Non-Article 5 NATO ISAF Medal.

Cameron comes from a long lineage of wartime service, with direct ancestors who served in World War II, World War I, the Civil War, the War of 1812, and the American Revolution. His great-grandfather served as a Carpenter's Mate 3rd Class on the USS Natrona (APA-214) during World War II and fought at the Battle of Okinawa. Because of his love for genealogy, a passion he discovered through his grandfather, Cameron is also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing & Management from Penn State University and has 16 years of experience in the U.S. Intelligence Community and information security within Fortune 500 banking. His expertise in finance, operations, and strategic planning ensures the post’s continued success.

After moving to the area from Washington, DC, Cameron joined VFW Post 4927 on Veterans Day 2023 and is dedicated to veteran advocacy and community service. He has a special interest in veteran suicide prevention and works to connect local veterans with essential resources and support. His leadership helps strengthen VFW Post 4927’s mission of serving veterans, their families, and the Port Jefferson Station community.

Cameron is married to Kayla and has a son, Jeremy, from a previous marriage.
